The Motors Formula Team (MFT) is taking two new steps with the creation of its first Mauritian sim racing championship and the launch of its MFT eSports platform. The announcement was made this Monday July 26, 2021 through a press release.
The MFT SimRacing Championship is a virtual car racing championship on the Gran Turismo Sport game on PlayStation 4. The competition begins on Sunday August 1, 2021 with the Maubon eSports GP. The event will be broadcast at 8:30 p.m. online.
Six events are planned until December 2021. The championship is organized by the MFT eSports platform in collaboration with BenjXMotors.
The Maubon eSports GP will feature two sprint races of five laps each. The six best from these two races will participate in the final which will take place over 15 laps. The event will be held on the Nürburgring circuit.
“MFT eSports will act as an event organizer in eSports, both online and for physical events, in particular by offering championships spanning an entire season. Each event will be supported by an appropriate exhibition, in order to reach all motorsport and gaming fans in the Mauritian market, and quickly throughout the African continent,” explains the MFT in its press release.
